Torque Wrenches, Tools, & Equipment
The Role of Torque Wrenches
Torquing a bolt involves applying a precise rotational force using a torque wrench to achieve the required tension and clamping force for secure fastening.
Nearly every shutdown involves applications requiring joint connections that must be loosened or tightened. Accuracy and precision are essential to preventing leaks, accidents, and costly repairs. Improperly torqued joints have led to catastrophic failures, sometimes occurring weeks after maintenance was performed.
Proper torquing ensures bolts are tightened to the ideal specification—neither too loose, which can lead to vibrations, loosening, or failure, nor too tight, which may strip threads or damage the bolt. Torque wrenches provide precise control, applying force measured in foot-pounds (ft-lbs) or Newton-meters (Nm) to achieve secure, reliable connections.

BOP's or Tight Spaces
Inline ratcheting wrenches are designed for optimal efficiency, necessitating minimal clearance to apply torque directly in alignment with the nut.
The sleek, patented design of the inline ratcheting head has been streamlined to accommodate a wide array of applications.
Features: Interchangeable Heads: Industry-leading smallest point-to-radius design Versatile Fit: 360° x 360° swivels that are fully interchangeable and can be placed in 2 positions for a better fit. Diverse Selection models covering a torque range from 117 Ft Lbs. to 44,785 Ft Lbs. | Benefits: Smallest Point to RadiusEnsures you will fit in the tightes of spaces. Streamlines operations Using Heads instead of Links allows for quick size transitions. Precision The IU’s versatility ensures you position the wrench for the maximum results. |
Multiple Nut Sizes Single Job
Built on a time-tested design, square drive ratchets provide a cost-effective solution for a wide range of bolting make-up and break-out applications. The SU-XL Series features a patented mechanism that enhances accuracy while minimizing moving parts for increased reliability.
The XL Series body fully encloses the drive train assembly, eliminating pinch points and reducing overall weight for improved handling.
Features: 1. Square Drive Size: Ranges from 3/4″ to 2-1/2″, ensuring compatibility with all standard impact sockets. 2. Reversible Reaction Arm: Offers 48 position points on each side, yielding a total of 96 points for versatile use. 3. Multi-Axis Porting & Full Swivel Capability: Features 360° x 360° swivels for comprehensive maneuverability. | Benefits: 1. Versatile Nut Sizes: Accommodates multiple nut sizes, reducing downtime. 2. Increased Efficiency: The abundance of reaction points enhances operational efficiency. 3. Optimal Positioning: Allows for better positioning, enabling a wider range of applications. |
Compressors/Jammed Nuts
The patented JN Series hydraulic wrench delivers fast, safe, and precise tightening or loosening of Top Drive Packing Nuts and Gas Compressor Piston Rod Crosshead Jam Nuts. The JN torque wrench eliminates the need for hammer or striking wrenches, reducing fatigue and costly accidents.
The split-head design, along with specialized adapters or inserts, accommodates any size or type of Top Drive Packing Nut, OEM Jam Nut, hex, or other configurations. This eliminates the need for costly aftermarket nuts while delivering unmatched accuracy, speed, and safety.
Threaded Pipe Connections
The Hydraulic Chain Pipe Wrench—a game changer for tightening and loosening threaded pipe connections. This portable tool replaces cumbersome tongs and manual methods, making “making” and “breaking” connections safer and faster. It significantly reduces injuries on rigs and in shop environments.
With a simple button press, the Chain Pipe Wrench allows users to step away from the hazardous radius around the pipe. Available in five models, it simplifies pipe make-up and break-out. Just latch the chain around the pipe, adjust the slack with the tensioning nut, and you’re set to tighten or loosen tubular threaded joints effortlessly.
Hammer Union Connections
Historically, hammer unions represented a significant safety risk, earning their name from the perilous method of separating the joint using a sledgehammer, which often led to damage, injuries, and lost time. The HU Tool addresses the challenges of safely and efficiently breaking out hammer unions, which were traditionally separated using a sledgehammer—a process that posed risks of damage and injury.
By providing controlled and measured force application, interchangeable heads, and a spring-loaded gate design, the HU Tool enhances safety, reduces the risk of damage, and increases operational efficiency. It’s a solution designed to make the handling of hammer unions more secure and less labor-intensive.
Speed & Efficiency
The TLS delivers speed and versatility in one compact tool. With a lightweight design, precision, and efficiency, it provides operators with a reliable solution for demanding tasks.
The High Speed Multiplier offers a free speed of 224 rpm and a 52 mm gearbox, accelerating break-out and make-up operations. With minimal vibration for near-silent performance, and its rotating gearbox to enhance the tools safety, ensuring smooth and controlled functionality.
