Every RenQuip Step Wedge kit ships with the following specifications:
- Spreading Force: 94 kN (9.4 T) per tool, 188 kN (18.8 T) in pairs (FSW9K, FSW9D); 163 kN (16.3 T) per tool, 326 kN (32.6 T) in pairs (FSW17K, FSW17D, FSW17M, FSW17P)
- Spreading Distance: 6 mm (0.24 in) to 81 mm (3.19 in)
- Minimum Access Gap: 6 mm (0.24 in)
- Jaw Width: 6 mm (0.24 in)
- Maximum Operating Pressure: 700 bar (10,000 psi) (FSW17 hydraulic models)
- Maximum Applied Torque: 200 Nm (150 ft.lb) (FSW9 mechanical models)

A RenQuip Step Wedge kit supports the following applications:
- Construction: assembling and tying in flange joints
- Commissioning: inserting blind flanges for pressure testing
- Maintenance: servicing flange joints between shutdowns
- Shutdowns/Outages: bolt, seal, or pipe spool replacement
